We're kicking off week two with an ode to Japan's fruit sandwich. Our Happy Kitty is a strawberry and whipped cream sandwich on soft white bread, served with cinnamon sugar fries.
And who, exactly, is Happy Kitty? One of my favorite comic mini series is Absolution by Christos Gage and Roberto Viacava. The comic itself is something of a cross between The Boys and Dexter. Happy Kitty herself is something of a Deadpool character, violent but also ridiculous, and a scathing commentary on objectification of the Japanese school girl image.
